They were visiting Brisbane for another friend’s wedding.

Police have not launched a criminal investigation into the case, with forensic experts still leading the investigation.

Daley’s driving will be investigated.

Debris from the crash stretched hundreds of meters, with Daly and McLean’s vehicles destroyed.

Anyone who saw Daly’s Audi driving in Brisbane on Wednesday is being asked to contact police.

Police refused to confirm witness accounts that the Audi was seen traveling at around 200km/h in the moments before the crash.

“What I can say is that speed is obviously being looked at as a contributing factor,” Detective Acting Inspector Chris Hansel said on Thursday.

“But many other factors are also taken into account.

The crash investigation will take “months,” the detective said.

All lanes of the tunnel were closed to motorists for more than two hours after the crash.
